Just spotted this bit of Info over at SL Central.

What most people do not know about the whole iPod battery situation is this: the problem only exists on first-generation iPods, and of those, only a few models have the issue. Instead, TV reporters are saying that all iPod batteries will die within one to three years, and that it?s not a good idea to buy an iPod for this reason.
