I run a small domestic wireless network, which means I visit clients homes from time to time. It never fails to amaze me how little people know about spyware and viruses. The number of times people have told me "Well, I don't really go on the internet that much, it's not worth paying money for anti-virus software!" and how about the most common question "What's a Firewall?"
When I introduce them to Lavasoft's Adaware and remove over 800 spyware programs running in the background of their PC's, yes folks... I think we have a problem. My Tweaks Page is a little attempt to put together in one list the most useful of these freeware programs.
There are NO excuses! You really don't have to spend ANY MONEY to keep your computer safe, free from viruses and running well. There are many dedicated freeware program writers out there providing a wealth of free programs and web services, just because they can. I have listed just a few of them on my Tweaks Page. In my mind, these are the essential ones, there are many 1000s of others, but by using and installing these must have programs, your well on the way to a trouble free computer experience.
