Published by

Today, Microsoft released the ?Phishing? tool, as an addin for the MSN Search Toolbar (Beta). Lately, users have been engulfed with a number of emails posing to be from popular companies such as Paypal, Ebay or even banks. The email will ask the user to input some details such as the username and password. These details will be then sent back to the sender who will take full advantage.

Microsoft is already addressing this problem with the latest release of Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1, which reduces the risk and helps blocking suspicious websites. ?Anti-Phishing? technology will also be used in Windows Vista with the help of IE 7.

The ?Phishing? addin for MSN Search Toolbar (Beta) will use the same techniques and possibly the same technology as Internet Explorer 7.
