Just got word from my good mate Anton Nilsson over at Nordic Hardware that their Radeon 9200 and GeForce FX 5200 PCI-Express card reveiew is out!
We rarely test really cheap graphics cards here at NH. We often stick to cards in the range $180 to $700. Today is an exception; we are testing two PCI based graphics cards. The two cards are Radeon 9200 and GeForce FX 5200. In other words they aren't the fastest cards on the market.
We test a couple of games and we also examine the 2D performance in this somewhat short review.
Gainward's cartons are easy to recognize with the rendered girl face as a trademark. Their PCI based FX 5200 is no exception. A large sticker which says "PCI" clearly states that this card is meant for the PCI bus and not the AGP. The specifications hardly impress, but on the other hand we did not expect to find a monster of performance in this price range. 800 SEK is what you must pay for the card which lies in parity with the AGP equivalents.
