Overnet v0.28 Out

Published by

Overnet uses what is called a distributed hashtable to organize the data that is searched for. This means that nodes know what other nodes to send a search to. In Gnutella the searches and publishes are sent more or less randomly so the the network is far less efficient. It is like the difference between looking something up in a large pile of papers or in a filing cabinet. "Currently there is only a Windows version. I will make a Linux one soon though. Please keep in mind that Overnet is still in the early beta stages. But I believe it is working better than the donkey at this point." Please press read more for additional information.

Be sure to read the FAQ before using Overnet.
