I was just over at Overclockers.com, when I saw that hey wrote a couple of Overclocking SATA Drives articles. Here's a snip.

Overclocking SATA Drives Have you tried to? Have you had any better luck than me? : I've been running a pair of WD360GDs, commonly known as "Raptors." These are the 10,000 rpm IDE drives Western Digital. I have them in a RAID configuration. What I have found is that these things don't want to overclock at all.

SATA Overclocking - The good news is it can be done. The bad news is it doesn't help: Most of you reported that you couldn't run SATA drives when you overclocked the PCI bus to any degree. A few even gave fairly convincing reasons why it couldn't be done. But not all of you? A few reported that they could run SATA drives with an overclocked PCI bus. And now, so can I.
