THE FIRST BETA RELEASE of the successor to Microsoft Office XP, excitingly-code-named Office 11, debuts today. Expected to ship in mid-2003, Office 11 is apparently 'a significant step forward in the delivery of Microsoft's vision for improving information worker productivity'. Office 11 makes more extensive use of XML, aiding the exchange of data across platforms and applications.
