When I was working on my PCI Express review, I shot off a question to NVIDIA about whether the GeForce 6800GT PCI-E card I'd received was bridged or native PCI Express, and I didn't receive an answer. So naturally, I pulled off the heatsink to get a look for myself. Here's what I saw. On the left is an AGP NV40 chip, and on the right is the NV45 package, with GPU plus bridge chip.
