Nvidia 3DMark Bug - Case Closed?

AS many of you may have followed there seemed to be a bug related to the performance calculations in MadOnions 3DMark 2K1 (activated / deactivated splash screens) in combination with Nvidia Detonator drivers. Quote 1: This was a bug with our drivers. The bug has been fixed. We are sorry but we can not get into the details of the bug however it was not a cheat. The fix should be introduced in our next driver release. NVIDIA Support Quote 2: NVIDIA HAS SENT the INQUIRER a new, pre-release driver that they it claims stops 3D Mark tests producing better scores on Nvidia chips than might ordinarily be expected. The driver is currently being tested in our sprawling Bosnian labs and we will bring you our verdict shortly. Nvidia tells us it worked quickly to produce the driver for us, but a few days is "no where near long enough for us to do our eval tests and WHQL certification." We can't help feeling that nVidia is miffed at having to go through this process, since the "bug" that skewed the results in the 3DMark tests did so in their favour.
