I just spotted this @ TheInquirer.net that Nintendo will launch the Gamecube for £150 in the UK.
I got to say that's cheap! I was thinking of getting the X-Box but with the X-Box costing £299 here in the Uk. I think I will be getting the GameCube instead and save the the extra £150 for my GeForce4. Hit read more for a byte from their article.
THE CONSOLE BATTLE is on with a vengeance in Europe, as it is now confirmed that the Nintendo Gamecube will launch here for £150. That compares to £200 for the PlayStation 2 and a staggering £299 for the Xbox in the United Kingdom.
Microsoft has still not explained why the price in Britain is so much more expensive than anywhere else, given that the Xbox is unlikely to be that price in the rest of Europe.
Although Britain was an island, it is now connected to continental Europe by an umbilical cord called the Channel Tunnel, which nevertheless seems unable to filter out the price differences.
