A member at Beyond3D, jsea, has had a look around inside one of the DLLs for nVidia's NVShaderPerf application, a command-line tool used to report on shader performance.

Within the aforementioned DLL, there appears to be what basically amounts to a help file for the shader compiler used in nVidia's drivers. As you might expect, this text contains some interesting (and damning) evidence of nVidia's application specific optimisations, in particular 3DMark 2001, 3DMark 03 and Unreal Tournament.
