MSI And Leadtek First To Market GeForce FX

A report on Digitimes.com catched my interest. It states that MSI and Leadtek will be the first manufacturers to release FX boards to market. Still there are other front line launch partners like Asus and PNY as advertised in the GeForce FX web pages at Nvidia.com, but strangly enough Nvidia seems to rely on the first mentioned companies. The cause for this may still lie within silicon production problems at TSMC using the new 0.13micron process. The report also states that Nvidia is going to use boards by MSI and Leadtek with the GeForce FX core technology to supply third-party manufacturers/resellers, to speed up distribution of the product. GeForce FX technology parts are scheduled for late January/early February release. Evenly of interest is a tidbit of info, saying that FX boards even need at least a 10-layer PCB.
