DigiTimes reports that Intel will start shipping of their new single channel DDR 848P chipsets to manufacturers between August 11 - 22. The first boards should arrive in stores in mid september. Motherboards based on the 848P chipset, which will cost a reported US$28-29 to motherboard makers, will be quoted at FOB wholesale prices of around US$60-70 in certain quantities to volume customers.
