Graphics at CeBit

Beyond3D recently attended the CeBit computer fair in Hannover, Germany to take a look at what?s new from the graphics vendors. While the industry is waiting to transition to PCI-Express and many in the graphics world are waiting for ATI and NVIDIA?s new 3D chips neither are fully ready yet so many vendors are in a sort of holding pattern at this show.

However, there were still a number of interesting elements to be spied out. On the NVIDIA front we see the full line of the PCX PCI-Express graphics chips. From ATI we see their first reference native PCI-Express board, a few new board vendor configurations of the current line and one of the first sightings of ATI?s upcoming RS350 chipset. We also got to sit sown with both S3 and XGI and chatted about what they have discovered from their first DirectX9 graphics chips and now they have these solutions what they are doing in the future with the experience they now have.
