A quote from the article:
Just one more turn. I think that rather familiar phase sums up my feeling on *Galactic Civilizations III* quite well; I want to play another turn, and another, and another. Typically in 4X games I prefer the civilization development half of the game or the military half of the game, but here I genuinely am enjoying both. Okay, maybe not the strategic placing of structures on planets, that I will leave to the AI governors, but strategically placing starbases to capture resources and spread influence is very satisfying to me. I also enjoy managing my fleets to cover regions, stifling enemy planets until I can get a troop transport there to capture it. It is all just fun for me, and I know there are more mechanics I can
learn to exploit to further optimize my strategy. I do have some criticisms here and there, but largely this is a game I just want to sit down and play because those criticisms are not severe enough to limit enjoyment. They are only things I think might possibly be done better, but are not flaws by any stretch. This makes the game a very easy recommendation from me for anyone looking for a good space-based 4X game.
