Blizzard Entertainment invites you to be among the first to experience the World of Warcraft? in Europe. We?re looking for a few mighty heroes to help us beta test the game and tune the performance of our dedicated European server network. Official closed beta sign ups commence today, 5th July and will end after three weeks. A few thousand randomly selected applicants will then be emailed advance keys to enter the online, massively multiplayer World of Warcraft.

The World of Warcraft Beta test has the following requirements:

A 56K or higher modem with an Internet connection.
You must have a valid e-mail address.
Windows® System/OS:

800 Mhz or higher CPU.
256 Megabytes or more of RAM.
GeForce 2 or Radeon graphics card or better.
3 Gigabytes or more of available hard drive space.
DirectX® 9.0 or above.
Mac® System/OS:

1.0 GHz or higher, G4 or G5 processor.
512 Megabytes RAM or higher. DDR RAM recommended.
ATI or NVIDIA video hardware with 64 MB VRAM or more.
3 Gigabytes or more of available hard drive space.
MacOS X 10.3.4 ("Panther") or better
Applicants must speak French, German or English. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Minors over the age of 13 must have their parent or guardian register on their behalf.

Testers that are chosen to participate in the World of Warcraft European Beta test will be notified by e-mail. In the event that you are selected to Beta test World of Warcraft (the "Product"), your use of the Product will be subject to a Beta Test License Agreement that you must agree to before you can install the World of Warcraft Beta. Additionally, you will be required to accept the World of Warcraft Terms of Service each time you log-on to play the World of Warcraft Beta.

Please note that only one entry per household is permitted. Multiple applications will be disqualified.

In addition, please note that Windows users will be prompted to download an ActiveX file during the registration process that will provide Blizzard with the system configuration of the computer from which you apply and intend to play the World of Warcraft Beta. Specifically, Blizzard will only be recording CPU, RAM, operating system, video card, and sound card information from your computer. Your system configuration data will be linked with your personal registration data. The reason we are collecting this information is to make sure that we select users with a wide variety of hardware configurations that meet the minimum requirements to participate in the Beta test. By submitting your application, you hereby acknowledge that the aforementioned data will be collected and grant Blizzard permission to collect such data.
