Today at GamePC, we're looking at AMD's first concentrated attempt to grab away market share from Intel's Pentium-M. The chip that aims to do so is AMD's new Turion64 processor, a chip which is being marketed directly for mobile users, a chip which is designed with power consumption and heat production in mind. The Turion64, supposedly evoking the concept of ?touring? (AMD?s words), has impressive specifications on paper. The new architecture has quite a lot of features which Intel?s Pentium-M is lacking, including SSE-3 support, 64-bit computing support, and an integrated memory controller, all features Intel?s mobile architecture won?t have for at least another year.
