The developers have chosen not to try to write any fancy prequel to the story of the original Doom, but instead have decided to retell the old story. A research facility on Mars is being run over by the forces from Hell.
You play a marine that is one of the few survivors and it will be your job do drive the demons back and find an opportunity to contact Earth to call for reinforcements. This time there is also talk about a long forgotten civilization that supposedly owns an ultimate weapon to ward off the zombie-hordes.
