Microsoft has officially released DirectX 9 Final!
Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX 9.0 includes security and performance updates, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX 9.0 APIs.
System Requirements
Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP
DirectX 9.0 End-User Runtime setup minimizes the download size but requires an internet connection during setup. The DirectX 9.0 Redist is available for download for those users that do not have an internet connection available during installation or Setup has trouble connecting to the Microsoft server.
The DirectX 9.0 runtime cannot be uninstalled. We recommend Windows Millennium and XP users create a ?System Restore? point before installing. For information on creating a restore point, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
Windows Millennium Edition: Microsoft Knowledge Base article 267951.
Windows XP: Microsoft Knowledge Base article 310405.

Hi. Is there a way to download dx complete, not only the websetup? By IE there was a command to download it complete, is there something like that for dx too?

C:IEie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E
You have to modify the first part yourself. Example: Your "iesetup.exe" is in "C:download" you have to type: "c:downloadiesetup.exe.......

I've downloaded all the cab's and then what? there is no setup in the cab's and websetup.exe might not find them on the harddisk, so it will still download them.... is there some special setup for this? (maybe a file I missed?)

after you download search this folder in the system (here is the root):
C:WINDOWSRegisteredPackages{44BBA855-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}
copy the files and you have all the direct x v.9

If you're referring to the Microsoft.DirectX.* files, these are managed DirectX 9.0 components you can safely delete unless you use managed software specifically designed for DX9 beta/RC.
To remove them just delete all the Microsoft.DirectX.* files from the Global Assembly Cache (usually the %WINDIR%assembly directory) except those marked with version 1.0.900.0 (5.3.0.900).
