Coolermaster Recalls Aero 7 CPU Cooler

Posted by [PM], 07/08/2003 08:07 AM 6 comment(s)

After several user reports in hardware forums around the world, Coolermaster Hongkong has issued a recall notice on the Aero 7 CPU cooler that already has been replaced by the Aero7+. The reports ranged from sudden scratches on the cooler material up to Aero 7 catching fire! Currently the recall notice seems only be valid for Hongkong users but I've read reports from the US and Germany too. If you are affected, report yourself to their email address.

To HK Aero 7 owner only: due to the design problem, our previous Aero 7 fan will potentially be damaged after certain amount of usage. We have noticed the problem and released the improved Aero 7+ to replace Aero 7. To be safe and this is a recall notice, we advise you to take your Aero 7 to our office before July 15th to exchange with Aero 7+. Should you have any inquiry please feel free to contact us.

I have no idea why they were released at all...
lower cfm , high Db .

Anyone seen the new silent fans from TT?? rather high CFM for such low Db and why the new heatsink looks like Thermalright SLK-800/900???

TT always lies about their dB...

like this crystal orb that is supposedly 26dB or something. but is louder than my 34dB fans..

the new TT cooler looks nice, but the guy is right its just a SK7 thats taller...
