The reason I'm asking is that today I got a call from a friend that's building a new AMD based PC and he can't get windows XP to install! so I pop over and had a look, everything looks ok! so I asked him what he's using on the processor he tells me a Thermal Pad as AMD instructed. so I just pop off the heatsink and what a surprise the processor die has gone straight through the thermal Pad! He's got a CoolerMaster Aero 7+ which comes with thermal grease!
