AMD Outlines Anti-Intel Plans!

The Inquirer has the low down on AMD plans, here's a bite from their article:

AMD believes that while Intel may be ahead in moving its chip production to .13 micron, it will be able to switch its entire production over faster. In the second half of next year, says AMD, it will move its production to silicon on insulator (SOI).

Its .18 micron Athlon/Palomino technology will end at between 1.7 and 2GHz, but moving that to a .13 micron process will provide between 20 to 30 per cent improved performance, with SOI giving it a further boost. Source: The Inquirer
