hi there, my first words after hours of gasping and pain were posted as a comment to a warp2search headline of today :

Engineers are working to fix a glitch in a Microsoft Web server that has prevented Windows XP users from downloading software updates, including a patch for a security hole, a company spokeswoman said Monday. The problem, discovered last Thursday, was created when engineers attempted to update software on a server, she said, adding that it is expected to be corrected before Tuesday. The spokeswoman said she could not confirm the number of people affected by the problem, but said about 8 million people download Windows XP software updates each week.

i had this update message on my screen for days, and finally it worked well today. the download and install were working quite fine. but then my heart stopped beating 4 a minute or so, this so called security patch/update-whatsoever DELETED my folders in the xp-folder wutemp with all data`s in it, DELETED my folders download+downloads and my folders private+privatz, so when you plan downloading this nice little thing, make sure your lan is working properly, then it`ll DELETE these things on every other computer in your sweet net.
without warning, prompting, 25 gigs of data on three different mashines make it up to 75 gigs i believe, so every file in the original version and the mirrored two versions too, why making backups of your data, download this crappy load of m$-shit and look at it as a harddiskcleaning-tool-patch, a space saving sp, oh man, this costs me a lot of money, and i mean a lot, a lot of time (no dsl in my home-village) and all my nervs.... sorry for wasting your time people, if you were reading my foolish words to here, but i had to tell somebody, thx

guess i`ll make it to linux quite soon, 2nite 4 sure....
