WinXp won't enter stand by
when i try to go to stand by or suspend mode a massage pop us saying that device on com 1 is preventing my system from entering stand by, i don't have anything on com 1, but i still went and disabled the port in control panel, now it says the same thing but it says com2 is preventing to enter stand by. I figured maybe the 4in1 drivers didn't install all the way,

any help would be great

There two possible reasons :

First : Detonator 23.10 are BETA DRV.
Get Detonator 21.83 or 23.11
Second : Chipset KT133 Not Support FSB 266Mhz, only 200Mhz.

yes, i know that 266fsb is not fully supported by my chipset but it works fine, and it goes to standby in win98 and 2000. Maybe i need to update my power managment via driver that came with winxp but where can i get one, it doesn't come with latest 4in1's (or at least it looks like that)

It ain't that--have a Iwill XP333 w/1333 t-bird and does same thing. Dis-able both com ports and it will go into Standby. have dual boot w/98 and 98 goes into standby. Just don't know. XP goes into standby with both ports dis-able --have nothing on them.No big problem --just a quirk I guess. Will try any suggestions though. Thanks

Same problem, different error
My Soyo Dragon plus With RAID 0 tries to go into suspend, closes Winxp then gives the blue screen of death. I thought it was because of the RAID acting like a SCSI drive.
I haven't tried the COM trick because the error never pointed in that direction. I agree that this is prob. an XP qurik.

I don't think this occurs only on VIA MB's
I loaded it on 815e&440zx chip MB; Same problem occurs. I have'nt figured out the cause of the problem.

Another funny thing when reformatted and installed on 815e MB the standby activated automatically, like a ghost. But it did'nt happened on 440zx.

CURIOUS:-why everybody here is anonymous.....
