WinXP Sp1 fixes refresh rate problems?

hey,

It was rumoured that winxp sp1 fixes the refresh rate problem, so games run in the same refresh rate the screen is.

is it true???

so what about the nvidia compressed modes, doesnt it override it!?

Just installed XP SP1 final and tested a few games. Refresh Rate problem is STILL here. How many years will it take them to fix one of the biggest and well known bugs??

Its unforgiveable that this problem has gone on this long...

Why do people still insit on calling this a BUG? It's operated this way since NT was introduced. Does anybody here really believe Microsoft left such an obvious "bug" in NT 3.X, 4, 2000 & XP & no-one there noticed? Pff, come on.

XP SP1 final does not fix it,

Maybe it isn't a bug but they should include a slider for you to alter it as 60hz is not acceptable to the eyes.

Depends one which side you are looking at the word "bug" from.

Generally, a bug in computer software is reported by the "user" as a unacceptable inconvience during their computing experience in which they pay good money to be served.

A crash in a program causes inconvience due to a halt in progress of work/pleasure, thus it is a bug.

A start menu refusing to open, causes inconvience and now Windows isn't working like it is expected to work.

Having your monitor not lock onto a well known and acceptable standard of viewing rates, that the eyes (people like to keep their eyes) don't get stressed, hurt or damaged by. Is an invoncivence, and a unacceptable factor of computing, thus can be referred to as a "bug".

Bug, in computer terms meaning, a problem that needs to be fixed, which to everything that likes to use all of their 5 sences for the rest of their life, will certainly agree that the refresh rate bug, needs to be fixed and instantly.

Any problem computer wise, (which is just a tool really) that causes discomfort to a user's actually body is one of the worst i can think of, who the hell wants a tool that we buy with a hard earned money to hurt or annoy them?
