I got various BSOD's with XP Pro and can't find a solution for. I run Zonealarm 2.6.362 as a firewall. Here are my most often BSOD errors:
  • Process has locked pages
  • fastfat.sys has caused an error
  • i8042prt.sys has caused an error
I don't have a M$ mouse! My HDD's are Fat32. If you have any ideas on how to fix those I would be thankful.

I'm also having problems getting a stable setup under Win XP with a similar configuration:
Abit KR7A-RAID Mobo
Athlon XP 1900+
512Mb Crucial DDR 2100 @ CAS2
Radeon 7500 AGP Graphics Card
Audigy Platinum Sound Card
SIG USB 2.0 Controller
Alcatel Speedtouch ADSL Modem

My BSOD's are usually IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ............

I've installed latest VIA 4 in 1 Drivers and Latency Patch, tried most combinations for pci cards (swapping slots)and have latest XP drivers for ALL peripherals.

Any suggestions/solutions would be most welcome

I also had those IRQ BSOD's. I got rid of those through disabling USB & the serial ports through BIOS (I don't use either of those) thus freeing 3 IRQ's resulting in a re-resourcing of IRQ's so that the ATI board is NOT sharing an IRQ.

Hope this helps.

For ABIT KR7A Raid Users, Sound Blaster Audigy is NOT Compatible w/ the board. Some users cannot even detect the sound card in all 6 pci slots while others get BSOD instead. I was one who keep getting "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL BSOD". Try to change the sound card or motherboard. I've changed my KR7A to Shuttle AK31 Rev3.1 and the problem was gone. Harocarlos

When I installed XP on my system at home (can't remember the setup), it worked perfectly right off...for weeks, until!

I noticed my graphics driver kept falling off the hardware menu, yep when i re-install them...it works! Any ideas cos this is getting annoying!

I have XP Pro and After about 2 months of using the OS internet explorer began to crash and automatically shut down when I went to certain web pages. i was forced to install netscape and it works fine. The problem is that I do not know of a way to reinstall or repair IE6. The Version that comes with XP is newer than the Dwonloadable version. Also just recently Morpheous is starting to cause messages that IE6 is having problems running scripts(advertisements and keeps asking if I would like to abort running the scripts if I don't say yes morpheus crashes. Any suggestions??????

Eh, this is gonna sound really stupid, but the IRQ BSOD's are actually down to using a third party firewall in XP. I used BlackIce for a while and had these problems, NetworkIce are aware of the problem, but no fix released yet . So if your using a firewall uninstall it if its not too risky for you. I did, problems gone. Your choice.

This is because of the software firewall imbedded in IE6/WinXP. It is having problems getting Certificates from the ad site or is blocking the ad site for potential harmful behavaur. Try changing your Internet secruity properties.

Sound Blaster Audigy and the ATI Radeon8500 have driver problems for some people in WinXP. I would suggest change those to see if they are the cause. You will need to do a fresh install of winXP.

VIA motherboards... WinXp comes with the most stable version(IMHO) of the 4n1's built in. Do not change them.

See above post about WinXP having a software firewall built in. It may be causing you some problems. Try turning MS's weak one off.

To 2nd poster (Anonymous), try entering your BIOS by pressing either DEL, F1, or Print-Screen which are the most commonly used keys to enter the BIOS Setup screen. After doing so look through each menu and submenu for an option called "PCI Latency" try changing it to 0 (defaults to 32). It worked for me =).
