Win. 9x/ME and 40.41 drivers!!!

Sorry guys, didn't mean to lead you to beleive something else. I just want to get something off my chest I'm severly pissed about.

With NVidia not supporting Win. 9X/ME with their new drivers, I will never give them another penny as I did last March when I forked over $400 for their card. They won't even return E-mail when asked if they intend to have a 40.41 later for Win. ME. Glad they revealed their support. They should have waited until 9x/ME was ready before releasing XP/2000, if they intend on releasing.

Doesn't matter what you people say about 9x/ME. The point is I have ME, it never once gave me a blue screen, and now this video card I have is considered second class because I won't fork over another $100 for XP, which is less then impressive other then the eye candy. I'm boycotting NVidia for good.

the reason why is because at the end of the year microsoft are dropping support for win me and 9x as they are obsolete os,s as they are based on and unsecure format DOS so goodbye the DOS based os,s and hello artificial DOS days thank god

Big Grin A+,CCNA,CCIE,MCP,MCT,MCSE

thankyou for the time

Despite your snobbism in touting the wonders of XP, and your joy at the obsolesence of Windows 9X/ME, it is still an abyssmal business practice to come out with a product only (ME) only to stop supporting that product only three years after it's introduction. I have used all three o/s 98/ME and XP and have found that ME is the most stable of the three.

For all the bragging about XP, it is not an impressive system. If this is what "artificial O/S" has to offer, the future looks grim.

Of course, so people are so easily lead that they always buy into the hype that new must be better, but no matter how many acronyms you have behind your name, the proof is in the pudding, not the package.

Have some of you guys considered the fact that alot of the newer
programms/apps coming out may not be able to work on these older enviroments?????

Btw win ME stable ???....LMAO.....doing what ???

YOu want stable try w2k...

The way your saying it makes me think that even win.3.11 should still be supported...lol

Its called progress people...learn to live with it or go live in a cave.

Apparently some people have trouble understanding and retaining what they read. I said I tried 98, ME, and XP, and of those three, ME was the most stable. If it didn't work for you, perhaps you have the same trouble understanding ME that you did understanding my post. As for Win2K, thanks for the tip, if it is indeed as stable as you say, perhaps I will try it.

And I have no intention of living in a cave...I'm quite comfortable with new technologies, however, if you had grasped my point, you would realize I said not supporting an o/s that is less than 3 years old, such as WinME, is abyssmal business practice. I made no mention of including products that are as old as Win3.1. Also, as more savvy consumers know, new is not necessarily better, and thus far, XP is less than impressive and is riddled with flaws, which makes lack of support for other o/s' even more aggregious.

Unless you're a shill or Bill Gates' personal lackey, I see no reason to get so excited.
