Will u 3Dmark 2k3 your PC?

If u r living in cave or had left the planet for some reasons these should be a news to you... Futuremark is launching 3DMark2003 in coming days.
As usual it will have DirectX 7, 8, and 9 benchmarks included in it to test your PCs limitations.

Official Minimum requirements
DirectX®9.0 compatible graphics adapter that has 32MB of memory and is fully DirectX®7.0 compliant.

Minimum CPU Recommendation:
1000MHz x86 compatible processor (PCMark2002 CPU score of over 2500)

My question to all of you whole(still) have DirectX7 and DirectX 8 AGP Cards (i know there are lots of there) is ; Will you care to Download the new version of 3DMark ? and see how badly your PC performs when it is given Direct X 9 data to work with? ... [which (i think ) you already know].

Sure. 3DMark is fun to watch. It is cutting edge and shows what your hardware can do (I do not mean that in a benchmarking sense). I was always a big fan of demos in the days of the Amiga. 3DMark is nothing but an extension of that to me. Sure it's not about amazing people by using as little code as possible anymore, but it sure shows off skills.

It doesn't hurt that it gives you some indication that your hardware is working on par.

In otherwords: I would download demo in video mode just to see what creative minds have accomplished with the latest hardware. The fact that it runs in real-time only adds to my already disturbing level of hardware worship.

Direct X 7 and 8 cards just wont run the new Nature demo, just like DirectX 7 cards couldnt run the 3Dmark01 naturedemo.
but Directx 7 cards should only be able to run 1 of the 4 gametests.
but anyways... ppl wont get 10.000+ marks anymore Smile

I am looking forward to it.

If I can get XP Pro back on my machine it will be even better. If not I'll have to use 2K.

I want to challenge and push the new ( LOL well not exactly brand new!!) hardware I got to the limit.

I also love to watch the demo / video and marvel at the talent involved in putting it together.
