Where does Outlook XP store it's emails

In which file are the emails and email settings (accounts, etc...) stored in Outlook XP?

you are an idiot

he did say "outlook xp" NOT outlook express!!

do a search for *.pst files on your computer, they are outlook 9 and 10 files. the format of 10 is different and not backwards compatible. apart from backing up, i can see no reason why you need to mess with them, it's pretty much impossible to extract anything from them, unfortunately they are so incompatible with the standard mbox format that the only way for another application to read them is via OLE (i think... if anybody knows how i can get all my emails from an outlook 2002(xp) file so i can import it all into eudora please reply!)

Actually, you can use Outlook to export it's *.PST files to a flat, readable comma delimited text file. Check File->Import & Export ... Actually, you have several options for exporting email and you can select what you want exported.

Thanks nevin, I'll try that once I get home.

HermosaBeach, the reason I need to do this is that I can't boot to the hard drive that I have Outlook installed on (and, so, can't run Outlook to export the emails)

I do, however, have access to the files on this drive from another drive, so I was just going to put the .pst files from the old drive into the new one.

It's probably not the cleanest way of doing it but I can't think of anything else.
