I got finally a new pc, but my AT desktop case is useless now.
So i decided to get a silent ATX midi case with 120mm fan + max.350/400W PSU
I dont have a clue about silent cases right now...always get the cheapest from my dealer.

What about the Arctic Silentium T1/T2 , Chieftec Dragon/Mesh cases?

Using Verax PolargateCU939@1000rpm currently on AMD64 3000+ // 45°C but I have really bad air circulation in my room, 27°C room temp. :knife:

when searching fo a case I read alot of arcticles and it seems that the
Arctic Silentium T1/T2 sucks

I bought the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 last week. AC developed a very "cool" thermal design. The Power Supply is mounted on the bottom of the case (near to the front) and over the place where usually the CPU is located there are 2 very quiet fans. At 30° Celsius in my flat (roof dwelling) the case-temp gets roundabout 36° Celsius and the CPU (measured by CPU diode) nearly 48° Celsius.

+4 very quiet fans (long life ceramic bearing)
+high efficient powersupply (350 Watt)
+HDD muffler
+thermal design
+Frontpanel (USB and sound interfaces)
+quality of manufacturing
+Low-cost (75,00€ in Germany)


-only 1 HDD muffler
-pedantically towersocket (but it is not useless! )

AMD AthlonXP Barton 2500+ @3200+
ASUS A7N8X E Dlx
Radeon 9800Pro
3x HDD (SAMSUNG & SEAGATE)
1x DVD-RW (LG 4163B)

All these small 80mm fans in the T2 making me sceptic...and the design is really not my taste.

This one is a simple office case i like, but there is only place for one 120mm fan

1x 120 is fully enough ...
it would make more sense investing into a XP-120 else a case with 4 case fans

Hey, I was planning to get a PC NOISE KILLER KIT which includes 1x Power Supply Noise Killer and 2x 80mm Fan Noise Killers which would reduce the amount or noise level.

this will do nothing
thats a waste of money ...

Hey Mertsch, can you give me some tips about reducing the amount of noise generated by the CPU's fan so that I can read reviews about it and buy it lateron...........

clean from dust, use a tool like "speedfan" IF POSSIBLE or let the Fan run @7V if it´s not overheating, or buy a better one
