What Are They Doing At NVIDIA???

ATi seem to be bringing out new drivers and tweaking apps etc at least a couple of times a month  ! BUT on the other hand you don't see Nvidia bringing out new drivers everymonth even. Their still stuck with the v41.09 (official Nvidia driver).
What on earth are they doing their at Nvidia? Are they even working on anything at all? If its the FX then what dumbness. The FX is a flop I say. It is SUPER loud (apparently btw  ) and it aint all its hyped up to be.

Hmmmm come on NVIDIA... give something back to your end users!!! :o :o :o :o

Nvidia is on purpose waiting because they want to release the
version 50 WHQL drivers that include the FX and everything else,
and that is stable above all.
They are very busy, and as for the loud cooling, they are also
busy trying to find another solution. Thermaltake has already
introduced it's silenced passive heatsink for the FX.

Well I wish they could have at least updated the 41.XX series to a 42.XX or 43.XX even.
Thermacooling hu... well too late now isn't it since it's already been ordered out.
COME ON NVIDIA.... YOUR FALLING BEIND! CHOP CHOP LOL

Get a clue...the GF FX was a flop mostly because of a few biased previews of a card you will never be able to buy...even if it tripled the performance of anything from ATi. Every nVidia driver available now I've tried has been perfectly stable and performed well with my current solution. I have several Radeon cards, and I wish I could say there was a SINGLE driver that matched up to nVidia's.

Considering there hasn't been an official Nvidia WHQL driver (or any official driver recently) since November, and in that time ATi have released 2 (3?) fully MS certified and perfectly stable (in my experience) drivers, I know who has the driver problem here. Wink

Yes but Nvidia have ALWAYS released the better drivers. Don't forget that.

Geforce FX

I have a PNY Geforce FX 5800 Ultra and had no trouble buying it and it's been perfectly fine with the 43.00 drivers and it's much faster than anything I've seen. The noise thing is a joke, when it kicks in it is no louder than my case fans that are already creating plenty of noise, can't even notice it. Another thing, I use a headset and can't hear any of the fans or noise period during game play. It was blown way out of proportion. It's by far the best card out there and if and when the 5.0 Detonators come out if this is a fact mentioned earlier, then I'm sure it will be the ATI killer everyone has been waiting for. Too many bad Preview Reviews killed it too early. All Nvidia cards have gained so much with new drivers and I'm talking if you look at release drivers with even their Geforce 4's and the drivers they have now the gains were quite considerable 20-30% and maybe even more depending. You'd have to see the many articles over the net about the facts on this for the proper percentages. Drivers will definately make the difference. All I can say is that Nvidia has done it again. ONE AWESOME CARD!!! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Your allegence to what had been a very impressive set of drivers is understandable, but your statement is simply untrue. I don't have a single issue with any of the games I have tried (and that is quite a few, btw). I have better image quality and framerates than a person with a competing nvidia product in a similar hardware setup, so please explain how it is that my Catalyst 3.2 drivers are letting me down so terribly. From my point of view, the only reason you are making such a statement is because you like living in the past where nvidia outperformed ati at every level. All that has definitely changed. These days, nvidia is fudging their drivers and has resorted to manipulation and outright lies in order to sell their products. The current crap they are pulling makes me cringe when I admit that I used to own their hardware AND it makes the Quake/Quack ATI driver optimization look pretty minor in comparison.

Read this thread here and then try to say what you said with a straight face. Good luck.

Well I can't say anything about Catalyst drivers but I was stating this about what I had read in reviews and general opinions about anything going up to Catalyst 3.0. If 3.2 have crushed Nvidia then so be it. But I'm waiting for Detonator 5x.xx. And don't say I live in the past I've only had an AGP card since last summer Tongue
