Dear Visitors,

thank you for all your suggestions and your support but i have to tell you something:

The CEO of Techconnect told me that I HAVE to write this post. I am NOT behind this post. The only think what i can tell you:

If you click on our banners, that s the best support you can can give us and that s more then enough!!!

Donate and stuff... I don´t want to tell something about this, read the post again and decide for yourself.
What i can tell you: Something will change in the near future and the traffic home popup will removed too in the near future. That s all i can say for now!

If you click on banners, that more then enough.
Thank you!

Sure, the ad market is crap. I know what you're saying Chicken, but so what? Ad space IS what W2S has to sell & they have to get people to buy it (i.e. clicking on them). If people can't be bothered with the ads then thats not the sites fault, it's the viewers fault for not bothering.

Look at Minotaurs post "I filter all my web access through WebWasher precisely to avoid all the ads" for example. Why bother keeping the sites up for jerks like this. They'll use you while you're up, waste your bandwidth reading your news, downloading your files, etc. When its time to close up. They'll just move on elsewhere.

BTW - About downloads. I stated this AGES ago in another forum thread here. Forget which one but I said something about that would kill the site. Looks like I was semi on target about it now, doesn't it.

It's simple, kill the downloads (Too late now I guess). So what if that's a popular feature, plenty of other sites host such downloads. Doing a local mirror is plain suicide these days.

I'm starting a sister site to ASE Labs that has to do with only software things, and keep hardware on the main site. I was going to do downloads and stuff, but seeing how much bandwith downloads take up, I may just not do it.

One thing you can do to limit downloads though, allow only registered users to download files. That's what I am doing so far.

Best of luck!

In one way your right but on the other site, don´t you love it when u can download files from you Newspage than only from the firms? I think it s a feature of our site and we will try it to make it in future too. Not so massive but we want to have some file give away for or visitors ;-)

Well Well...... ;-) wait a bit guys, wait a bit

Can't say it botherd me too much. I mean, "knowing" its available would be more important I think Wink
Like the PowerDVD XP patches, excellent, downloading them locally makes no difference to me though

yeah just a link to what downloads are current would be enough really....no real reason to mirror.
