W2S Future Update !

Hello Guys,

good news or bad news for the ppl who hoped that we go down:

Today I recieved some payments, especially from our english adcompany and we are able to pay the server for dezember. Also it looks good that we find a new sponsor who will work with us.

Also after long time, work and a lot of phonecalls and investigations our systemadministrator found a way to save a lot of traffic, also we find some ways to decrease the traffic. I hope it will work out, we will see the numbers end of january. Thx goes out to Mike for his help.

So it looks a bit better for the near future, press your fingers that it will work out but atm it looks like that we can go into the next month.

So, if you want to support us, just click on the banners and visit our sponsors.

I thought that this info maybe interest you, enjoy your stay on our little, family website.

Best
Niels

Thats such a good news. GZipping the site would decrease load time and Bandwidth meter as much as 1/3 rd as it now (Ofcourse, GZip does eat lots of CPU and Ram power ... but think of all the bandwith cost it would save.... all the harware investment should recover in month)

Now i should be getting ready to prepare some reviews and tutorials ..... and ofcourse some NEWS,... only when newsfactory relaxes for some time.... Smile

Im not sure exactly how they work but do you have that bots.txt (or whatever its called) configured to dissallow access to the site?

maybe that would save bandwidth? dunno
