gmm w2s forums are more than 3 times faster with opera 7.1 then with IE 6 ! :o

I never had any virus dialer nor anything else by IE ... it needs some realy noobs who believe anything to get a virus or dialer .....

But I support anything that isn't IE there's still several known major exploits for IE that MS havent fixed, despite them being around since IE5.

Why bother running web washers, crazy browser ect. for IE just to get half the features of alternate browsers....?

In my eyes IE has everything u need ... sure some features could be there ... but those which are there ... are damn good no other browser has such a good favorites management ... or is so easy to surf ....

and security holes are everywhere .... but the most are found on IE because its the most checked one ....

just take a hacker .... would it make sense to search opera for holes ?! when 1-2 ppl. use it .... what was it ? 90% use IE sure all are searching bug there ....
if someone wants to harm u he can do at any time at any place equal which brower u use or which firewall u have ... that fact ..

btw to come back to the original question .... on my PC the forum is loaded within 1-3 seconds .... that needs to be faster !?

IE6 is the best!!!

Other browser might be faster, have less bugs (although I never have any troubles with bugs in IE6) and be safer, but I still prefer IE6. It has an easy to use interface and performs quite well (set MaxConnectionsPer(1_0)Server to 10). It also displays pages the right way almost always (since most pages are designed with IE in mind).

About dialers, like Mertsch said, you have to be a one dumb ass if you still fall for those dialer tricks. Any user with something like a brain recognizes dialers and doesn't install them.

About virusses, just get yourself a good virusscanner (you should always have a good virusscanner).

About exploits, I never have encountered an IE exploit... The exploits that are discovered in IE are discovered by companies and alike which specialize in finding IE exploits. Mostly they are patched by M$ before the pose a serious threat. These exploits result from IE being very flexible in use.

Why do you think do we have so many viruses in the world or many problems with dialers Adware or Spyware thingies ?
'cause most people use IE/Outlook and do not install any patches/fixes/updates
So it's very easy for this malware programs to spread out - experienced users are able to minimize the danger but it's still existant

There are less/nearly no problems with Mozilla/Opera as these programs do not use ActiveX which is responsible for 80% of the security fixes - MS Java VM has problems ,too - it's better to use real Java from Sun

what has spyware to do with the IE

again u need to be f****** stupid to get a dialer ... this has nothing to do with security wholes ... if ppl. really believe to speed up there connection 600% oder enlarge their penis or get any warez within second .... sure they get a dialer .... what does this have to do with IE ?!

If ppl. would just think a minute about what they are doing no one would have problem with dialers ....
