VERY quiet case fans...

Anyone have any suggestions for EXTREMELY quiet case fans? I'm after an 80mm one. Has anybody tried the "ultra quiet" fans from Pure Silence or Silenx?

all those ultra silent ...... fans are not silent
I recently bought some 15€ fan because I though it might be good (960RMP default) and it was not ultrasilent as you might expect ...
and after just a few weeks it started to make some noise ... returned it ... but which fan runs quite well is my

revoltec dark red 120mm
http://www.revoltec.de/english/produkte/rl021.htm

it is audible at full speed @7V you can't hear it
and they do run without any problem for over a year or 2 now

revoltec fans are very inexpensive
even more at the time I wanted to buy a 120mm fan for my radiator the revoltec was the cheapest one with the fan speed I searched for

and I really started to like revoltec all their products are high quality and I only made good experiences up to now

Nope, I've got to use 80mm I'm afraid - or else buy a new heatsink for my CPU that can deal with a 120mm fan!

Hey, I'm planning to get an Antec PC Noise Killer Kit and an ANTEC 80mm UV Fan.

ANTEC 80mm UV Fan Features::
-80 x 80 x 25.4 mm

-Volumetric Airflow 34 CFM

-Fan Speed 2,600 rpm (avg.)

-Acoustic Noise 30 dBA (at average rpm)

-Static Pressure 0.12 inch H2O

PC Noise Killer Kit Includes:

-1x Power Supply Noise Killer

-2x 80mm Fan Noise Killers.

So by adding the PC noise killer, it would reduce the noise level............

CPU: Pentium 4 3.2GHz 800FSB HT
Mobo: Intel
RAM: PC3200 1024MB
Video Card: ATi 9800 Pro 128MB DDR
HDD: Barracuda 80GB 7200RPM
Speakers: DELL 2.1 A425 Speakers
Keyboard: Microsoft Digital MEdia Pro kewboard
Mouse: DELL scroll mouse

this is NOT really a "noise killer"

if u have the chance...go for 120 or 140mm Fans

these dB values are absolutely without any worth ...
the only thing you should rely on is the fan speed
and a fan spinning with more than 1000 RPM is not quite ... thats a fact ... even 1000 RMP fans are often audible ... only fans with 700 and below are really silent
but this is only interesting for someone like me who does want a totally silent PC ... the everage PC user should take a 1000 to MAX 1500 RPM fan but do yourself a favor and stay away from fan that spin faster ... and Tt fans Big Grin

I have made good experiences with the revoltec dark red/blue fan which is now running over years and does not make any noise @7V and is pretty quite at 12V

no sound and enough! air
