what does it mean to "unlock" your CPU?
and how do is it done???

It means to throw it outa 10-story window....
first you...........
no really it means to connect the bridges on your chip with some sort of lead be it lead from a pencil or silver solder or anything conductive that can be put on the chip in a straight line to connect the bridge.

Unlocking CPU

Its better to increase the FSB then to play around with solders. I am currently using 2.0BGhz PIV @ 2.3Ghz just by using 115Mhz fsb with RD Ram memory @ 920 Mhz Big Grin

Are you talking about unlocking an AMD ("bridges") CPU or an Intel CPU? Intel are NOT unlockable. AMD can be unlocked via the tiny contacts (bridges) on the outside on the chip.

heh i'm using a P4 1.8a @ 2.57ghz, 143mhz bus, and ure correct U can't unlock intel chips. Pc2100 cas2
