Uninstall Intel Chipset driver

Hi warpers, i am running in a USB problem, and this occured after i install the intel chipset driver.

Every time i start a cold boot, the second usb port which i used for my mouse just doesn't work. The same thing happens if i plug other devices like my keyboard in that port.

I need to unplug the device from the usb port, reboot my system and plug it in when windows start and it will works.

I have tried doing a fresh install and everything works fine before installing the chipset driver.

Linux seem to works well too.

My spec:

Windows XP (1st partition) Fedora (2nd partition)
Dell inspiron 5100:
2.8GHz
384 MB RAM
Mobo with intel 845 chipset.
Ati Radeon 7500 (32MB)

Hi there,

our problem is well known.
Try the new CHipset-Driver:
ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-support/7...32-001.EXE

The changelog says:

ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-support/7...lnotes.htm

Issue: At the end of executing the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility the USB keyboard and mouse will stop functioning. This problem only occurs when using Windows XP with SP1 on a system configured with a USB keyboard and/or mouse. This condition is temporary until a system reset.

Solution 1: A recommended fix has been provided by Microsoft* in Knowledge Base article (822603). For additional information, please refer
to this article located at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];822603

Please use the following installation sequence:
1. Windows* XP installed with SP1
2. QFE (822603)
3. Latest Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility

Solution 2: The command line flag "-Skip <Device ID>" can be used with the Chipset Installation Utility program to cause the USB2 driver not to be installed. The Device ID's for ICH4/ICH5 are 24CD/24DD. This will cause the USB2 controller to have a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager (Usually located under Other Devices and identified as "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller"). To install the USB2 driver right-click this entry, select update driver, and allow the system to install automatically. When completed, nothing more should be required.

I hope, that`s it.
Please report, if it works!
