TV-OUT poor on Geforce2 Mx400

Hei all. Using geforce2 mx400 connected to sony wega 29" via
s-video. tv-out on dvd using POWERDVD is not
rectangle shape. the lower endes are wider than the upper.
???

This is due to how the Geforce handles TV out and is not an individual problem for your hardware. Normal TV broadcast and video use something called overscan. This means that the picture you are seeing is actually a crop of the full image which is larger than the visible screen area. Because the Nvidia TV-out is designed to mainly show your desktop, this type of overscan does not make much sense (part of your desktop would not be visible). The keystoning and visual distorsion around the edges (often color dependent) are artifacts of this behavior.

There is a fix for this which is useful for watching video on TV-out and provides this overscan necessary to make the image fill the screen. It is called TVtool and is available for trial and purchase at http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm (English page, native German also available). Once this is installed you should have new options to play with. It also corrects flickering and color settings to improve TV-out images.
