most reviews lack some serious comparison ...
I really love those which compare 6800 XCSSA vs 6800 ASJHDJAH
which is even more BS since most cards (if not OCed by default) are pretty much equal in any case
but I also do understand that benchmarking does take a serious amount of time and .... you know ...
but you hit the nail

Eg. 2 x 7800 GTX in SLI mode wont get a game for it for about 3+yrs. So all it is, is bragging rights and a way overpriced PC.
Its all about $

9800 Pro has roughly the same performance as the 6600GT so the best thing to do is is to go and check the performance of this card against something like a 6800GT to get an idea of how the 9800 Pro stacks up.

the 6800 (not the GT) is faster ... not much more expensive (~150€) and produces much less heat + less power is used i.e. over time its cheaper then a 9800 pro
and for ~170€ you can get a passiv solution without some crazy Zalman cooler
at this time I would recommend a 6800 (NOT GT) to anybody who wants to buy a new card and does have to look at Performance/price ratio
for AGP
for PCIe I would act different and buy a real PCIe card
(the 6800 is a native AGP card - one main reason why I would always choose a 6800 for an AGP system instead of a 6600GT which is a native PCIe only card)

for about 240€ u can get a 6800GT that u can easily overclock to ULTRA
with the right CPU.....huiiii....GREAT
