hi, first of all sry for my poor english..
the problem is this...
mobo: abit nf7s 2.0
amd xp 1700@210x10.5
2x256 ddr433
r9500np@9700
audigy2 zs platinum
wd raptor sata

i used to have the audigy in the pci slot 4
i cleaned the whole system and when i rebuilt it i accidentally put the au2 in the pci slot 5.
since then, if i have the soundcard inserted, the sata controller just disappears from the bios, so i can´t boot up since my hd isn´t recognized.
i took out the pci sound card and then the sata is working again..
so, right now i´m using my pc without the sound card.
any suggestions? thx.

ps: i´ve tried 2 different bios, cleared cmos and forced update of escd but didn´t help.

why don't you just put the card back to slot 4 ? or any other one then 5 ?

you said that you cleaned it. what did you use? have you removed all of the boards installed in the pci slots and carefully examined the slots for debris that may be causing a short circuit? have you taken a very soft small brush and cleaned them out to make sure and looked again after that? any possible shorts from the bottom of the mobo to anything? are all of the cables and jumpers configured correctly? have you tried reassigning the slot you want to use in BIOS? have you tried disconnecting the auxillary front panel connects for your Audigy 2 ZX? just a few of the things I check when diagnosing a finicky box. Look for anything that may be shorting or not connected properly...

the sound card is the only pci card i have.
i´ve only "blowed" air from my mouth to clean it

hmmm since it does not work in the other slots, too
it can't be dust within the slot ....
u said u did a CMOS clear ...
also tried the "load defaults" and "load optimal settings" ?
you may also manually control the resources by diving them special IRQ ...
the SATA controller does really not work when the soundcard is in or is it only windows not loading .... also compare the resource screen with and without soundcard .... whats different there ?

the sata controller just does not appear when the soundcard is plugged in, like if it doesn´t even exist.
cmos clear was tested.
optimal defaults, bios defaults, safe defaults tested too.
tried 2 different bios and the same problem.
i don´t really know how to manually set irq resources, any tips for that?

See if you can borrow a sound card from a friend to test the mobo with, any pci one will do. Try you soundcard in their pc and see what happens in BIOS as it boots. Then try their card in your mobo, stick it in the slot and see what happens. If your SATA controller shows up the replace the soundcard. If defective it should be under warranty if purchased as a retail box...

yeah check the card ... maybe you broke something ....
I lately had some problems with electric shocks .... maybe you "killed" your card or at least make it malfunctioning giving you this strange thing ... just do what thud said

I don' thave any demanding sound card and motherboard like yours but please accept my questions anyway. Did your pci slot fully used (no more PCI slot available)? Or how many slot still avilable? How powerful is your power supply?

i do not use any other pci slot
enermax 465w
i will just use soundstorm (optical out with my logitech z-680 speakers) and i will sell my a2 zs platinum

Have you try to disable the Onboard sound chip? If you haven't try to disable it and the install your A2 the boot. I know this should not help (i've tested running Both PCI sound card and onboard) but try it anyway.

and then i flashed 2.3, and tictac modded 2.3
i also tried 4227 and 4247 bios of the sata controller.-
