NEWER BUILD AVAILABLE !!!
http://www.warp2search.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3193

Hi,
again I ripped the actual WMP 9.0 from latest XP SP2 RC. This time its build 3133 AND its a FULL 3133 release! In RC1 nearly any file has been updated

Because of my webspace I have to split the pakage.
There is a maximum of 2 connections at once per IP so you got to get the files sequential

As seen on last release the DL worked very well on my Webspace. There is only a max users at once limit. So if the DL does not work just try some minutes later (but do not hammer the server please)

Its Virus/Malware checked and works very well here ... just let the self extractor put the files somewhere then goto that directory and run the "setup_wm.exe" to install.
The password for SFX is: www.warp2search.net

Please report any Problems here. - Last released worked flawlessly as it seems (It always had on my PC but there was also no report that anyone had any trouble).

http://people.freene...rtschdg/Windows Media Player 9.0 XP 3133.c06://http://people.freenet.de/mertschdg/...9.0 XP 3133.c06

Just DL those 8 files and put them into one directory and run "Windows Media Player 9.0 XP 3133.exe" to start SFX

Personally, RealPlayer is MUCH better then Windows Media Player.
RealPlayer has a better look and better sound quality.

LMAO ... I hope this is a joke ...
You are the very first person ever seen the likes RP ... I mean ppl. - like me - even hate it that much, that some cool guys made RP alternative

I would not say WMP is the best playa outa there since the lack of some features .. but it awesome in point of usability ...its just perfect
I miss that on any other playa outa there ... I only switch away from WMP when using different audio source .. or want to preview some downloaded stuff ... alse WMP all the way

I downloaded, extracted and installed...When I manually start WMP, all I hear is the Windows exclamation sound, and then nothing...not dialogue, nothing...Am I doing this right? I tried extracting to a temp dir, and copy them over replacing all, and also tried extracting directly to the WMP dir...same thing both ways.

what windows are you using ?
windows XP ?
when starting the setup_wm.exe a wizziard pops up ... doing a restorepoint .. the installing various things then the privacy wizzard pops up and the accociate file types ... then it goes directly to WMP ...
have you tried to extract it to a root dir like c:wmsetup or something like this

Duh, I am retarded, didn't know it was a setup installation, thought the files I extracted had to replace my current WMP files.

Thank yoy very much! Works great :)

lol Mertsch come on now, RP has much better quality and uses the best format, RealAudio 8 with ATRAC 3 @ 353kbps now I don't think WMP can beat that with its 'weak' Windows Media Format.

You know im right on the sound quality side of things. Besides, at least I have proof :P. Id like to see your evidence. :D

nothing against RP codec itselfe ... there a reason that not few content is in .rm format ... but the Player ... a simply sucks I can's see a PC with this installed
I am just talking about the player ... not the codec itselfe .. when I do a fresh install like today real alternative and quicktime alternative are some of the first things to install

Yet but with a good codec you get good sound quality and thats what everyone wants from there player, hence, realplayer is better then windows media player. I rest my case :).
Plus, wmp is ugly and just not modern. They've had that same lame look for so long now. At least RP is updating :D
