I have been having problems trying the beta drivers and running UT in DX8.

SYSTEM Info: AMD 1.3 Gig
256 ddr pc2100
Geforce 2 GTS 64 meg
Iwill KA266 MB
MS explore usb mouse 3.0
All current MB chipset drivers and bios

Under OpenGL, no mouse lag, screaming FPS but dark as hell. I know all about the opengldrv.dll But I have lost my second cd of UT. Anyway thats not the problem. Drivers 23.10,23.12,22.80 have no mouse lag what so ever. But, any other driver I install does. I have tried deleting everything that is remotely nvidia related from the computer and installing from stratch but still same mouse lag. Vsycn(sp) I always disable. But, enabled or not same result mouse lags in DirectX but not in Opengl. I have also tried with and without the intellipoint drivers. I have been researching this for the past 3 weeks and have yet to find an answer, or anyone else having the same thing happen to them.

It is just very wierd that driver 23.12, 22.80, 23.10 and the default Windows XP for Nvidia chip video cards have no problem with mouse lag. I have been able to switch back and forworth with the four drivers listed above and zero mouse lag but ANY other drivers I get about a 1- 1 1/2 second mouse lag just very strange indeed.

Is there "Anyone" that could direct me to some other resources on this issue or a known fix?

What resolution are you running? I have a G3 ti500 now and dont have any mouse lag. But.... I had a G2 gts and had mouse lag in any resolution higher than 1024x768 in UT. In fact it was present in 1024 also but not too bad. Lower the res and see if that helps. Thats the only thing that worked for me.)

Anonymous: I think this feature needs to be removed. IF you look back at all the posts of an Anonymous post arround the same time as the one in this thread you will see that this person is just a jerk. No wonder he/she posts Anonymously.

As far as the res goes I am running at 1024-768 at 32bit in both DirectX and OpenGl. I did notice a smalller amount of lag at 16 bit still not very Playable. With the other driver mouse lag is not present at all.......

Hi, I usually post on another board under the handle Babel-17.

I had a similar problem in UT using Windows XP and a GF3. The problem went away when I disabled direct input.

If you need to know exactly where to find this setting just ask. Best of luck.

Cheers!
