I built a computer and I have more than 4 IDE devices on it, and XP professional is only seeing the first 4. Does anyone know of a fix. I did a search and could not find a thread. Any help would be great.

You are probably using another IDE or RAID-controller, you will need drivers for this card first in order for it to work.

Thanks, but I have the drivers for the card and I can see four of the six IDE drives I have installed but I cannot see the others. I know its something in windows because I can switch the connections and I can see the other drives that were hidden.

I had a similar problem in xp also.. What I did is opened up Partition Magic to check the drives status and sure enough they were hidden so I told Partition magic to unhide the drives then I rebooted and voila all my drives were there.. Why XP hid them in the first place I couldnt tell ya but that is what worked for me wish ya luck
