have you tried to boot in safe mode ?
press F8 right before the XP loading screen pops up
choose "safe mode" then choose uninstall nvidia drivers from add/remove programs

after a restart use
http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=driversweeper
to clean any remains of the driver

then download and install the lastest nvidia driver from www.nvidia.com

hmmmm there are only 2 possibilities now ....

1. the card is defect
2. windows is damaged to a point you can't simply repair it
(under the assumption, that you did not change any hardware / modified the BIOS)
[/align]
can you test you graphics card in another PC ?!

Here is the step by step
1) I delete NVIDIA software through add/remove programs
2) I reboot the computer
3) I go back int Add/Remove programs and NIVIDIA software is back

now that is strange .... does your user account have admin rights ?
start-->setting-->control panel-->user accounts

did the PC come with windows preinstalled?
and is it still that preinstalled windows ?

if so it is possible, that dell integrated a nvidia driver into the operating system

Hi, I am new here but I maybe able to help. Using the Add/Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel doesn't really remove all bits and pieces of the NVidia driver. You have to use a driver cleaner similar to this; http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745. Since you have already removed it using the Add/Remove Programs, boot to safe mode then use the DC Pro. Clean only the NVidia drivers. Then re-install the driver for your video card.

Check out DriverCleaner.net, newest version low cost.

Older versions of DriverCleaner can be found on net for free.

Any driver cleaner software you use must be used in Safe Mode.

Use Reg Cleaner software to remove traces of old nv junk.

Important: USE [Windows Install Cleanup], a free app from MS. After removing the old nv stuff, check to see if something nv is still there.
