The W2C Nvidia Drivers...

I come on W2C regularly and have never seen such a good site as this and think its reliable and can be trusted Big Grin , but when I see reports of new Nvidia drivers such as the 42.XX and 43.XX series drivers being released by 3rd party orgs im not sure if I should get them because im not sure if their official or not because their not released from Nvidia themselves e.g. its not on their website :-? .

So my real question is that is it safe to download these drivers that are being released by these 3rd party people, thats if they are 3rd party.

Thanks in advance. Smile

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by 3rd party drivers.

If you mean Nvidia drivers that are 'released' or 'leaked' by manufacturers as PNY, Asus, Sparkle, Gainward or else, then you can safely download them.

The same applies to ATI drivers. These are mostly reference drivers for your graphics card. Chipset drivers such as Intel Chipset Installation and VIA 4-in-1 are generic anyway.

If they need to be modded, we'll tell you in the post.

If you mean 'Omega' drivers or similar - then it is up to you to decide. They are changed on core level. I never tried them and saw no need to.

generally I would NOT install drivers MODIFIED by other companies ... the install a lot of BS which does not work on your card ....
but it is something very differen to install the DELL thing which behaves just like a normal detonator ....

anyway you can nearly do nothing wrong even if the detonator does crash your system .... boot in safe mode deinstall get old one ad thats it .... btw the 43.03 is very good choice

I tried 43.30 and lost 1300 points in 3Dmark...
Maybe I could do with 43.03 and see.
