System config:

AMD XP 2000+
512 MB DDR RAM
40 Gb HD
Creative Gforce 4 ti 4600
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum
19' screen

CPU Cooler: Volcano 7+ Thermaltake at high speed
Gforce Cooler: Copper cooler Thermaltake
1 cooler in the back blowing the air out and one in the front blowing fresh air in and one hanging inside blowing between my Gforce and Soundblaster.

Enough ventilation you think?

When I play a 3D shooter at maximum detail and resolution of 1280-1024 my CPU climes to the temperature of almost 60 °C !!!

When it's hot outside I even remove my side panel.

Aldo AMD has a temperature problem, I still think it's a great CPU. For games it is the best and they're low priced compared with Intel.

Even Nvidia chooses AMD...

No system fans, only power supply and CPU fans

Idle CPU temp - 52 C
Idle Sys temp - 31 C

After 1 hour of Ghost Recon

Active CPU temp - 63 C
Active Sys temp - 42 C
GPU heatsink - burns my finger

Conclusion - My GPU is getting worked and I need a system fan.

Update : Installed a system fan about 3 months ago ...

Idle CPU temp - 43 C
Idle Sys temp - 24 C

After 1 hour of Winamp fullscreen plug-in

Active CPU temp - 54 C
Active Sys temp - 28 C
GPU heatsink - still burns my finger

Conclusion - My system performs a lot better and runs a lot cooler. I got an extra 10 MHz memory speed and an extra 5 MHz in core speed on my graphics card with the same stability Smile

CPU - AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz T-Bird processor
RAM - 512 MB PC133 SDRAM
OS - Windows ME
Tuner - RivaTuner

Athlon XP 2100+
EpoX 8k5a2+

49c idle (With HTTP server/FTP server/DC++/ICQ/Trillian running)
I dont know how much to load until my cpu is full load Wink

Note: After installing a blow-in and a blow-out fan in my Chieftec Dragon Midi Tower I lowered my c with 10! celsius. I had defenite overheating problems and periodical crashes before I did this. Now its stable as a rock. If you got overheating problems, consider to grab a easy-fan-mounted Tower and a blow in / blow out fan.

So for me, heat is *not* a problem anymore.

Best Regards
JemyM

Idle: 32C, Full Load: 39C, My CPU will only get into the low forties if the room temp is high. Tongue I have a POS old case thought that I will be getting rid of this week. Plan on buying a Thermaltake case w/seven fans... That should keep my CPU and SYS temps down. LOL
