well i doubted that everybody would try futuremark, and boy was i wrong.

Below is rough recall what happened yesterday night to me.

Here(Bombay India) it was just close to 24.00 and i was on net. As usual i went back to W2S, the Futuremark Clock (viewable only to W2S Admins.) was very fastly reaching to Zero.... i straight away opened a add story page .. posted a line and went back to the clock ..it just stroke O ... and the first mirror list was exposed.I updated my Mirror List and posted the story . The rest is history .

When i was posting the story i just glanced over people online counter .. there were around 1000 of them (and nearly 40 of registered) surfing W2S.. It felt as if 100's of shark had gathered around for food fest...... OK Back to the story.

After 15 mins of posting my story DO(Digital Oracle) PMed me W2S is down. "I said no way.. where did u get the news from?".. reply came "Try getting to the site".. yes W2S was down.... man the sharks had killed the prey... or rather the DB was ripped apart by W2S users.

Fortunately i had queued Futuremark in DAP and i went to sleep. In morning after freshening up i got back to my PC . Double-clicked FMSetup , Warning :- "No DX9 not found .. setup will continue but prog wont run" some thing like that showed up. i said OK and continue.... As i had installed FM i hd to try it .. But since there was no DX9 ... i had hunt to my 80 GB barracuda for DX9 Redist.. there it was in jan folder.

DX9 installed , Ati CAT 3.1 and latest Control panel installed .. PC restarted n number of time ..... then i clicked FM....

Message "Only one (out of four) Benchmark will Run"..... Man .. i need to save seperately now for 9700 ..so FM will run and then i can rest in peace..


BTW Degger i suggest only registered sharks ... users ... be able to view breaking news... and those who r curious my FM score was 154.... dont u laugh.... HEy u laughed ...... wait when i get R 350.

The above episode reminded me of Unreal 2003 Demo release night. the Only difference i was looking forward Unreal 2003 and yesterday i wasnt even thinking of FM .. just the Clock trickling to Zero just got me excited.

He He ! Yesterday was heavy yeah. Why we have not putted the File on our server Just wondering LOL.

So, the heavy amount of visitors was not the problem. But as always when we have a nice sccop the people interested in our server breaks down with a small and shitty problem.

Looks like a curse. But with the help of Mike we have solved the problem quickly.

Btw, my score with my System (see specs below) is 980 3d Marks but I do not use the newest driver version, atm i use the 6.13.10.6200, pretty old but I am to lazy to update. (Pull out all the reg keys and stuff) Will do it on weekend when i have bit more time.

So lunch over, have to go back to work.

Are you sure you did not leave out some numbers or you ran it with AA & AF? That score looks very low compared to what most Radeon 9700 Pro users have been reporting over the Net.

If i could download it, id try it...! all the download links are either busy or dead

I got a 3DMark2003 score of 991...

Nothing like 3DMark2001, but its to be expected.
My card doesn't support the Mother Nature Game Test, and a few other minor tests...

mine was 4484

btw Degger you might want to rename the "madonion" link in the web links subsection to Futuremark. I submitted a broken link about it ( the link works, it should just be corrected a bit ;P )

My Score was 1795 hmm i dunno if that's good or bad since i used to get 12-13000 on 3DMark

seems right, since you cannot run the last 2 important DX9 tests.
your score matches a reference sheet for systems+scores i saw somewhere.
i had 11.000 before on my soft9700, now the benefits of a directx9 card kicks in with 4484 marks.

Please....Please find that info sheet of info. I would like to see what they rank on system with what GPU.
