slow startup in XP with NIC

Can anybody tell me the registry key to delete which will help speed up my boot-up process when on a network?

 I know I saw a fix for this somewhere, where you searched for a registry key and deleted it, but can someone please remind me.

My system boots reasonably quickly but takes an age to sort out the network.

Thanx

For all of you who are having issues here is the fix for it There was a bug in windows 2000 that would cause the scheduled tasks folder to be searched when ever the user would browse network drives. Microsoft developed a fix for this bug. The fix fixed the problem and it also had nice side affect of speeding up browsing of Microsoft networks. Below are instructions how to apply the fix. 1. Open up regedit. 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace. 3. Find a key named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}. 4. Right click on it and delete it. 5. Restart

Done

Now go to http://www.moddingstore.com and buy some stuff;-)

choose the ip or slow down your pc

also have you attached an ip address to your networked pcs (ie: 192.168.0.1)/ in the nic manager..etc.. cos windows will automatcally set them up for you but it will make boot up a slow affair .. just in case you havent already done so LOL
