SiI3114: Serial ATA (SATA) Windows RAID 5 Driver -Released

The latest Windows RAID 5 driver for the SiI3114 SATA Host Controller chip can be downloaded from the links on the right. These drivers support Windows 2000/XP/2003. Windows 9x is not supported.

If there are no files attached to this article, then there are no revisions currently at this stage of development.

Comments/Special Instructions:

Please note that this drivers is released and includes Microsoft Windows WHQL certification. These should be used for evaluation purposes only.

Installation Instructions;

If you are using an add-in card, please open the updflash.zip read the enclosed readme.txt file.

Upgrade the bios using the enclosed flash utility(updflash.exe) and binary file(.bin) which is also included in the updflash.zip. Note that if you are using a motherboard with the 3114 on-board, this utility will not work as you will need to upgrade the system bios which is controlled by your motherboard vendor.

For existing OS installations, install 3114 board, reboot system, allow Windows to hardware detect the board and install the driver when requested. For new installations, install the 3114 RAID 5 using F6 SCSI driver install set boot partition 0 as boot partition.

After OS boots, install the RAID 5 GUI.(InstallRAID5SATAGUIonly.exe) Note that the GUI is Java based and will need to download the Java run-time environment during installation.(j2re-1_4_2-windows-i586-iftw.exe.)

Please note that when installing the java kernel, this requires an internet connection (ideally high-speed) to download the run-time environment.

The following issues have been resolved in this release:
