Mine where the official creative ones from November 2001.

They're Whql-ed.
It's got a new devldr.exe and a newer sblfx.dll.

The original SB-Live! XP drivers from Creative are version 5.12.1.3509.

Although the setup application is chinese, I used the upddrv2K.exe and updated my driver. They work on my CT4830 and I am happy

The win9x/ME post in W2S main is wrong!!!, you can't install that on a none asian (Chineese Taiwaneese, CT <-- :o ) Windows!!!

The Driverset from Station Drivers is English, you don't want Chineese names on your Volume bars, do you?

My own experience with 3520 and 3521 WDM drivers is that they don't realy support W9x/Me?
(as stated on the webpage Win2000 and WinXP only)

Basically, I get a shutdown bug (Deldver16.exe) with these driver sets and the 3521 does not show "signed" in DxDiag.

Anyone successfully run them on a W9x/Me setuo?

I did the update on win2k. It seems to hang during shutdown, the program devldr cannot shutdown. It seems to slowdown everything.
I am back to 5.12.01.3107

That is the best so far.. but dated 2000 May 5th.

Yes I tried them on XP Pro. Windows took forever to shut down, almost 5 min. said that the registry wasn't being released for shutdown.

I uninstalled them, went back to the other drivers and everything is fine now.

Guess my computer couldn't read Chinese :roll:

the main thing with the 3521 driver is the failures cuased by "devldr.exe", this new version fails to shutdown on windows reboot/shutdown...
Then when you have finally managed to shutdown correctly the next time you startup windows the message "windows has recoverd from a serious error" appears occurs constantly.

quick howto "revert back to 3520"
- run official "SbliveXPdrvupdate" (reboot when asked etc..)
- after driver (3509) is installed fully, run Upddrv2k.exe from the 3520 driver
- wait until "Please Hold......." is gone.
- reboot and tada, your windows is running 3520 again.

for 3520 Donwload this file click here , extract the file with winzip/ace/rar (right mouse button) or run it, it will start "upddrv2k.exe" automatically.

I also got the DEVLDR error when shutting down (Win2000) after installing 3521. I checked some forums and they suggested moving Devldr32.exe from WinNT/System32 to the startup folder. I no longer have this problem when shutting down.

I don't know if I should keep it this way or install 3520. Any thoughts?

hehe If it works now, whatcha afraid of? lol I'll try that now too (will set in registry Run section tho to keep out of the way).
